The Prince's three trials
Perhaps the old fairy tales knew something about love that we have forgotten. 🏰🌹🐉
The prince couldn't just walk straight into the castle and get the princess. He first had to go through trials and prove that he was worthy of what he desired.
And I actually think there is something quite beautiful in that thought.

🌹 The first trial: Bring her a flower for 7 days.
Not one giant romantic gesture to impress her, but small actions again and again. Can he be consistent? Is his interest still there when it’s no longer brand new and exciting?
🏰 The second trial: Guard her gate for 7 days.
Before he asks for access to her body, sexuality, and innermost world, can he take care of what he wants access to? Does she feel safe in his presence? Can he stand at the gate without expecting it to be opened?
🐉 The third trial: Tame the dragon.
Because the dragon is not necessarily a monster outside the castle that needs to be killed. It also lives within him.
It is his ego, fear, and need for control, but also his sexuality and life force. A power that shouldn't be suppressed, but one he must be able to stand strongly in without being controlled by it. Can he hold desire and intensity and still be present?
Taming the dragon is not about killing it. It’s about learning to ride its power.
And no, this doesn't mean that the princess should sit passively in her tower waiting to be rescued.
She already has her own queen's realm. 👑
She just decides for herself who she opens the gate for.
Because if you desire love, respect, and devotion, then look at his actions and not just his words. Does he give you time and attention? Do you feel safe and valued with him? Does he actually make your life better?
You don't have to open the gate just because someone is knocking.
Maybe the princess never waited to be rescued.
Maybe she was just waiting to see who could pass the trials…
and then have a really great time with him afterward. 🌹🐉😉
What trials would you give a man before you opened the gate to your queen's realm?
